Angie Ackerman, E-RYT500, is a senior yoga teacher with 20 years of ongoing practice, study, and training in various styles of Hatha and Raja yoga. She has been teaching yoga full-time for 13 years and training yoga instructors for 10. Her vision is that teaching yoga will become a respected profession, not a pastime. Angie believes yoga should be safe and accessible for everyone, and that the responsibility of instructors is to provide a safe place for people to find themselves. To that end, standards that promote and ensure high-quality teachers (who offer a safe and effective practice) will be her top priority.
Angie fully believes in YogaBC’s Vision and Mission:
“I would like to use my vast knowledge and experience with tried and true methods to establish a supportive, inclusive community with colleagues and students alike. I am excited about the opportunity to support my colleagues, community, and most importantly, yoga for the people!”
Atta’s yoga journey started over 20 years ago as part of a preparation course for a meditation retreat. He’s been a student of yoga ever since. His passion for leadership development and better understanding of the human potential led him on a self-developmental journey that resulted in studying coaching through Integral Coaching Canada® where he received his master coaching certificate. With a deep desire to serve the community he lives in, and with the support of yogis and yoginis within the community, he co-founded Om Prem Yoga Studio in West Vancouver in the spring of 2012. Atta teaches Restorative, Gentle Hatha, Purna and classical Hatha (alignment-based) classes. He also offers one-on-one and group leadership, and life coaching to clients around the world.
